Gene Broman of Owatonna died January 29, 2020 at Koda Living Community in Owatonna, MN.
A celebration of life and reception will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, Owatonna.
Born Ralph Eugene Broman the son of Ralph and Agnes (Ronning) Broman on February 15, 1936 in Minneapolis. MN. He graduated from South Senior High in Minneapolis in 1954. Gene enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Gene enjoyed a career with Maytag, Black and Decker, Owatonna Tool Company, and was a realtor until his retirement.
Gene was united in marriage to Marilyn Krove on December 22, 1956. From this union they had three daughters. In 1976 Gene married Audrey Leffler-Smith, adopting her daughter into his family.
Gene is survived by daughters Traci (Tim) Ehrich, Toni (Kevin) Ideker, Kelli (Jack) Kelly, and Vanessa (Tim) Jensen; grandchildren Travis Ehrich, Anni (Nick) Yule, Jack Kelly Jr, Zoe and Nolan Ideker, and Jacob, Andrew and Lucas Jensen; 3 great-grandchildren, brother Raleigh (Ruth) Broman, sister Betty Richie and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Audrey, brother Robert Broman and brother-in-law Lovell.
Gene was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, and spending time with his family at the cabin.
