Victoria A. (Vickie) Klinkhammer passed away July 3 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness. Vickie was born on July 6th1932 in Owatonna to Adolph and Anna Horak. She was the youngest of their six daughters. Vickie attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary school and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1950. Vickie married Wayne Klinkhammer in 1952 and together had 5 children. They later divorced. Vickie worked for many years at Anderson’s Grocery & Owatonna Meats before working as a Teller at Norwest Bank (which later became Wells Fargo Bank) for 23 years. Vickie volunteered at the Pink Pantry at the Owatonna Hospital and was active in Catholic Daughters through Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Vickie was a member of the Sweet Adelines women's barbershop singing group. Vickie enjoyed singing, playing the piano, volunteering and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life. Vickie is survived by her children David (Susan)Klinkhammer of Burnsville, MN, Dale (Joanne Stone) Klinkhammer of St. Louis Park MN, Barb Podein of Rochester MN, and Julie Reiland (Daisy Dial) of Owatonna, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy (Kenneth) Carroll of Owatonna, sister Donna Strawser of Constantine MI, sister Marian (Richard) Johnson of Owatonna. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents Adolph & Anna, sister Edna, sister Betty, infant brother Robert, daughter Pamela, son-in-law Randy Podein, and granddaughter Stacy Klinkhammer.
Friends may greet the family Monday July 9, 2018 from 5 – 7 pm at the Brick Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road) and one hour prior to the mass onTuesday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Tuesday July 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (810 S. Cedar Ave), followed by interment at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
