Regina Mae (Jasperson) Wacek, passed away July 27, 2018 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, 6 days short of her 94th birthday.
Friends may greet the family from 4-7:00 PM Monday July 30, 2018 at the Brick Meger Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral mass at church. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 31 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Litomysl with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
Regina was born on August 2, 1924 to parents Hans and Anna ((Moravec) Jasperson. After the loss of her parents at the age of 6 weeks, she was taken into the home of her aunt and uncle William and Mary (Moravec) Wencl and raised as their daughter. As their family grew she was later joined by Katheryn, Lucille, Marlene, and Joan. Regina attended country school, District 47- Blooming Prairie Township. Before marriage she worked on her family farm near Blooming Prairie.
On May 7, 1946 she married Joseph Wacek at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Litomysl. During their 62 years of marriage they were blessed with 13 children. Her hobbies included gardening, playing cards, bingo, embroidering, doing puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Columbanus Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #878. Because of declining health, in January of 2018 she moved to Prairie Manor Care Center where she enjoyed their activities, made many great friends, and looked forward to visits from loved ones and Mary’s little dog Annie.
Regina is survived by her daughters, Rita (David) Goodnature and Mary (Dale) Abrahams of Owatonna, Donna Wigham and Marilyn (Jim) Severtson of Blooming Prairie, and Janice (Duane) Reichl of Port Charlotte, FL. Her sons, Joseph J. (Vikki) and Tim (Mary) of Blooming Prairie, Thomas (Sherry), David (Kelly), and Greg (Rochelle) of Owatonna, Dale of Claremont, and Terry (Roxy) of Emmons. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents Hans and Anna (Moravec) Jasperson, William and Mary (Moravec) Wencl, her husband Joseph, daughter Bernadette, daughter-in-law Susan, son-in-law Garry Wigham, and two grandchildren Richard Wacek and Bradley Archer. Memorials are preferred to Holy Trinity Cemetery Fund.
